Michael Lofaso is an American composer, pianist, and producer based in Los Angeles, California. His music blends cinematic storytelling with a deep love of melody, harmony, and orchestral color, drawing equally from classical tradition, jazz sensibilities, and contemporary production techniques.

As a composer and collaborator, Michael has contributed music to a number of film and television productions. He recently co-composed music for Netflix’s Furies: Resistance, alongside composer Guillaume Roussel. Working at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Productions, he contributes music to the television series Marie-Antoinette (PBS, BBC, Canal+). Born and raised in New York City, Michael began studying piano at an early age and went on to pursue formal musical training through specialized arts education in composition, performance, and recording. He has performed at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall, and his music has been performed internationally. A three-time recipient of the ASCAP Foundation Irving Caesar Scholarship, Michael has also been recognized by the ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Awards and ASCAP’s Composer Spotlight program.

Alongside his work in film and television, Michael is developing original projects at the intersection of jazz and cinematic writing, blending improvisation, orchestral textures, and modern production into music that is both intimate and expansive in scope.
